D.Z, a rapper/producer out of Nashville, recently put out the album "Lessons," featuring the single "I Know They Know." A song saluting the ever presence of hateration. The track is, in a word, #dope, and able to air beside the commercial Pop, Urban and Club singles airing today - with high-quality production, great lyricism, a ridiculously catchy hook and a cohesive fun flow. Best of all, I hadn't realized he was a Christian artist until I stumbled upon a bio on Facebook.
I figured "I Know They Know" had to be a fluke and scoped out the rest of the album on Spotify. I was pleasantly surprised! Certainly not a spend-all-on-the-single album. The songs present positive messages of growth and struggle, but it's the catchy hooks and high quality bumping beats that sold me. My only criticism is that I (speaking of fish) had to fish hard to find links and info. I came across D.Z.'s single from a supporter of his posting it to one of my social networks, but would never have stumbled upon him any other way. With such attention to detail on the production of the music and video, definitely deserves more online presence. To do my small part in rectifying this, I encourage anyone reading this to check this kid out.
